Today, we’re excited to share one of the technological innovations we’ve developed to help us do just that: our proprietary credit scoring platform, designed and built entirely by our technology and data teams.
🔍 What is it, and why does it matter?
When a company purchases food through our platform, it often needs financing. To make that possible in a responsible way, we assess whether that client is financially reliable. This is known as credit risk assessment.
At Loads, we’ve developed our own technology to automate and enhance this process, helping our risk team make more informed and accurate decisions. This is essential to our operations, as financing is one of the key pillars of our value proposition.
🧠 How does it work?
Our platform draws from data sources across more than 10 markets and 20 product types, enriched with internal information generated through our own operations. All of this is organized in our Data Lake, a massive digital library where we store everything we learn as a company.
From there, our proprietary algorithm kicks in. It evaluates 20 different dimensions for each customer and financing request. Some of these dimensions include:
- Historical payment behavior
- Destination country
- Type of product
- Requested advance amount
- Transaction volume and frequency

🧪 Heuristics + Machine Learning
The foundation of our system relies on heuristic algorithms, rules and formulas we’ve crafted based on experience and data analysis. On top of that, we’ve already integrated machine learning evaluations, a type of AI that learns to detect complex patterns in data.
This combination allows us to better anticipate risk and make faster, smarter decisions. Looking ahead, we’re actively researching new AI models to continue advancing our predictive capabilities.

✅ What do we gain?
With this platform, our risk team can evaluate more clients in less time, with greater depth and accuracy. This reduces the risk of defaults and strengthens our financing operations, allowing us to scale with confidence and security.
And because this technology was developed entirely in-house, we can continuously improve and adapt it to the specific needs of our markets and customers.
🌍 In Summary
This project is yet another example of how, at Loads, we don’t use technology for its own sake, we use it as a tool to fulfill our mission: making food more accessible on a global scale.
And for that, every line of code matters.
