At Loads, we believe the future of international food trade lies in combining smart technology with strong human relationships.

In this edition of #MeetTheTeam, we sit down with Dámaso Sáez, Business Manager SR at Loads, to talk about how he’s driving growth across Europe, Asia, and Brazil — building strong, long-term relationships with customers, identifying new business opportunities, and helping simplify global trade through efficient, reliable operations, while contributing to a more transparent and connected food supply chain.

1. What’s your current role at Loads, and what’s your main focus right now?

I am the Commercial Manager at Loads, responsible for developing and managing key markets, mainly in Europe and Asia, while also leading our expansion into Brazil. My main focus is driving growth, strengthening long-term relationships with our customers, and identifying new business opportunities across these regions.

2. What’s your role at Loads and what’s a typical day like for you?

My day usually starts by reviewing my calendar, current orders, and ongoing operations. I follow up with customers through emails and calls, ensuring everything is aligned commercially.

I also work closely with our internal team to identify new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with both existing and potential clients. Throughout the day, I stay connected with logistics to monitor shipment status and ensure smooth operations.

Given the time differences, I often end my day with calls to customers in Asia.

3. What’s something you’ve learned working in international trade at Loads?

One of the key things I’ve learned is that every customer has specific challenges. Our role at Loads is to understand those needs and simplify their operations by providing reliable solutions, strong support, and efficient service throughout the entire process.

4. What’s the biggest shift you see coming in global food trade?

I believe the industry is moving toward a more automated and self-managed supply chain. The focus will be on improving efficiency, transparency, and real-time decision-making across every stage of the operation.

5. What’s the most important value that drives decision-making at Loads?

At Loads, we are driven by commitment and execution. No matter the challenges, we focus on moving forward, solving problems, and ensuring that the flow of fruit remains consistent and reliable.

6. If you had to describe Loads’ culture in three words, what would they be?

Collaboration – Hard Work – Commitment

7. How do you see Loads evolving in the next few years?

I see Loads becoming a key player in transforming the global food supply chain. We aim not only to grow as a company, but also to lead and influence the way the industry evolves toward a more efficient, transparent, and connected future.

8. What are you most excited about in the coming months?

I’m particularly excited about developing strong programs in key categories like blueberries, expanding into new markets, and strengthening our sourcing capabilities across different origins.
